ChatGPT, the recent buzzword, is taking the internet by storm. GPT-3 AI Chat or ChatGPT stole a million users in just 5 days, which is the shortest time for any tech platform, EVER!
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not a new thing in today’s world. But it has made significant strides in the past few years, and as a result, there is a growing concern that it may take over jobs in the future. With the recent advancements in natural language processing like ChatGPT and DALL E, artists and writers are creating some heat about this concern. It is now possible to generate human-like content using AI-based tools.
Today let’s dive deeper into the concerns of content writers about GPT-3 AI chat taking over their jobs.

Is the concern valid?
Firstly, it’s important to recognize that AI-based writing tools are nothing new. There are now a number of AI-based content production systems on the market that can produce books, papers, and articles. However, the content produced by these tools is not of a high enough caliber. They nevertheless lack the creativity, emotions, and insights that are characteristic of human writing.
However, the introduction of ChatGPT totally flipped the game. The quality of writing produced by AI has significantly improved with the introduction of GPT-3 AI chat or ChatGPT. Modern language model GPT-3, created by OpenAI, can produce writing that resembles that of a human. It has the capacity to produce texts that are difficult to tell apart from human-written articles, tales, and even dialogues.
ChatGPT AI chat even possesses the capability of resembling any famous writer’s style and producing totally new content as if it was written by him/her and GPT-4 is yet to be released which will have 500 times more parameters than GPT-3. So, yes! The concern is absolutely valid.
Impact of GPT-3 AI chat on content writing
The impact of this GPT-3 AI chat or chatGPT can be both positive and negative.
For small or large businesses which need to produce tons of blogs or content regularly, these AI content writing tools can be a helping hand by increasing productivity and reducing the time of producing content drastically. Small businesses that cannot afford writers with higher salaries can be beneficial from these tools. Plus content creators can also be benefitted by getting views and information within seconds which can speed up operations.
But there are negative sides too. These AI content writing tools write based information available on the internet. Though these tools are improving continuously with time, those will still lack the emotions and decision-making abilities when it comes to putting a view or taking a side in crucial matters.
As these tools cannot judge the impact of a statement like a human brain judging how people will react to the statement after it gets released, it can produce some controversial contents that can cause chaos. Also, the internet can be overloaded with false information from people with certain intentions. So, these tools can be biased in producing some kind of content.
Articles or blogs are views of experts produced from the field of expertise. These blogs contain pieces of information from their years of experience. AI writing tools like ChatGPT lacks these experiences and rather depend on the information available on the web. So, creating some blog or content comparing some products or information can produce incorrect results too.
For example, I asked ChatGPT to make me a listing of the 5 best smartphones of 2022 based on their camera performance. Along with others, it listed the OnePlus 10 Pro as one of the best camera smartphones of 2022. Now, I may not be an expert but I am highly interested in smartphones and their performance. I test and check out the specs and expert views of the smartphones that come out throughout the year. From my experience, I would choose Pixel 6A or Asus Zenfone 9 over OnePlus 10 Pro anytime based on price and related camera performance.
So, sometimes these AI tools can produce not so much reliable information. But one cannot figure out if the information is reliable or not if he/she is not an expert in the subject they are reading. As a result, content produced by these tools like GPT-3 AI chat can be less effective and reliable than content produced by a human who is an expert on the subject.
So, Will Al take over content writing?
The big question remains. Will AI content writing tools replace writes?
“It is unlikely that AI will completely take over content writing due to its current limitations in understanding the nuances and subtleties of human language and creativity. While AI can generate simple and formulaic content, complex content still requires human input. However, AI can aid and enhance the content writing process by providing insights and suggestions to writers, automating routine tasks, and generating some basic content that can be further refined by human writers. The most effective content creation will likely involve a combination of AI and human creativity.“
The last paragraph you read in this section is totally written by ChatGPT. Though I think it is quite a formulated answer to the question, we can agree to some extent. AI lacks the complexity of the human mind taking a situation from a different perspective. So, we can always produce content using AI tools but that needs to be moderated by humans for the best results.
Google has recently said it will accept AI-generated content. But there can be always a question regarding search ranking. The more this tech gets sophisticated, Google can decide to prioritize human writing for its ranking. Also, the existing tech is not good enough to this date regarding SEO, keyword, and such.
In the end, these AI writing tools are here to stay. But you cannot trust them blindly, at least for now. They will be a great addition, but the human mind and judgment will definitely be needed.
Final thoughts
AI might not fully take over your job as a content writer, but a person using AI will. We have to admit, AI is the next big addition to human life. It has just started, and as time passes we will see more of the sectors adapting AI for efficiency. So, it’s always better to keep oneself updated about these technologies and make the move to adapt to the situation before it’s too late.
